FRIENDS of Caroline HOSPICE Support Groups and Outreach Programs are available to our families, their friends and to anyone in our community needing our services.

CANCER SUPPORT GROUPS
Cancer support groups help patients learn how to deal with a diagnosis of cancer and with cancer treatment. Patients have the opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings with other people diagnosed with cancer and with trained hospice volunteers. We offer both group and one-on-one cancer support sessions, at Keyserling Cancer Center and at Fripp Island.

CAREGIVER SESSIONS
These sessions are aimed at helping the primary caregiver provide the best care possible for the patient. Participants discuss the needs of the patient and learn how to communicate more effectively. Caregiver Sessions are offered depending on the needs of families currently in our care.

LUNCH, LAUGHTER & TEARS
The impact of a loved one's death is fundamentally profound, bringing enormous change in all aspects of one's life. You can help yourself through this time of grief by connecting with well-trained and compassionate counselors and others experiencing loss. These groups meet for lunch in six-week sessions and are offered on a regular basis. Thise is no time limit on bereavement services, they are available as long as the individual is in need.

BEREAVED PARENTS GROUPS
One of the worst things that can happen to us as parents is to lose a child. We live our lives hoping and believing our children will outlive us—when this does not happen the results can be devastating. Anyone who has lost a child is welcome.
BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT
FOR CHILDREN

FRIENDS
of Caroline HOSPICE's Bereavement Support Team is currently in every public and private school in Northern Beaufort County, helping children cope with the death of a loved one. Each Child Bereavement Team Member is highly trained in techniques that encourage children to express their thoughts and feelings in a safe setting. They facilitate interaction through art, music, journaling and sharing with their peers. This service can be provided through individual sessions, or in a group at school. It is the only program of its kind in Beaufort County.

SPEAKERS BUREAU
To further support the community, we have established a Speaker's Bureau that will be glad to provide a knowledgeable speaker to give a talk and presentation to civic organizations, medical and church groups, or clubs wishing to know about the services provided by FRIENDS of Caroline HOSPICE. Please call our office at 525-6257 to schedule a speaker.
