OUR VOLUNTEERS
We have over 800 volunteers serving the Beaufort Community as: patient volunteers, drivers, office assistants, fundraising organizers, event planners, sales assistants at The Red Door Thrift Shop, members of our Speakers Bureau and a variety of community awareness and outreach programs. In 2007, our volunteers contributed more than 17,000 hours of service and drove over 62,000 miles. All volunteers receive training for their desired role. Volunteers can expect to work in conjunction with other volunteers and under the supervision and guidance of a staff member.

WHAT DO OUR PATIENT VOLUNTEERS DO?
Our Patient Volunteers offer relief and assistance to patients and their families by helping with daily activities. They are available to listen, counsel, run errands, shop, help with light housekeeping, play games, read to the patient, or just sit with the patient so the primary caregiver can have some free time. Regular training sessions are held every spring and fall or whenever five or more people request them.
HOW DO I VOLUNTEER?
Its very easily! Volunteers are always needed, whether to directly serve our patients or to help in the office, running errands, etc., or to assist with fundraising activities andcommunity events. Call 525-6257 any time for more information.
You will receive a very warm welcome!
